With the photogragher coming and one thing and another, we’ve had a bit of a bitty day. The children had a fun morning with P.E, reading and a bit of play. This afternoon we had an ICT session. We all had a turn on the maths program, some used the laptops, some used the video camera and another group used the dance mat! What a lot of things - I can hear you say! The children are just getting the hang of the camera, and I thought you’d like to see what they’ve done…Â

Reception would like your help, we’re running out of junk modelling bits and bobs. Please can you bring in cereal boxes, egg boxes, kitchen rolls, yoghurt pots, and anything else that you may think to be useful! Also if you know anyone that lives on a farm and they can spare some straw that would also be useful! We’re trying to build the homes of the three little pigs. For hygiene reasons - please no toilet rollsÂ
Thank you

Today we had a go at writing our own story. We borrowed a story and made it our own. Which story have we used?
The Story of Dora the Explorer and the three pigs.Â
Once upon a time, there was a Girl named Dora. One day she went for a walk in the Jungle. Pretty soon, she came upon a helicopter. She knocked and, when no one answered, she walked right in.Â
At the table in the kitchen, there were three bowls of biscuits. Dora was hungry. She tasted the biscuits from the first bowl.Â
“This biscuit is too hot!” she exclaimed.
So, she tasted the biscuits from the second bowl.
“This biscuits is too cold,” she said
So, she tasted the last bowl of biscuits.Â
“Ahhh, this biscuit is just right,” she said happily and she ate it all up.
After she’d eaten the pigs breakfasts she decided she was feeling a little tired. So, she walked into the living room where she saw three chairs. Dora sat in the first chair to rest her feet.  Â
“This chair is too soft!” she exclaimed.
So she sat in the second chair.
“This chair is hard too!” she whined.
So she tried the last and smallest chair.
“Ahhh, this chair is just right,” she sighed. But just as she settled down into the chair to rest, it broke into pieces!
Dora this time, so she went upstairs to the bedroom. She lay down in the first bed, but it was too hard. Then she lay in the second bed, but it was too soft. Then she lay down in the third bed and it was just right. Dora fell asleep.
As she was sleeping, the Pigs came home.Â
“Someone’s been eating my biscuits,” growled the Papa Pig
“Someone’s been eating my biscuits,” said the Mama Pig
“Someone’s been eating my biscuits and they ate it all up!” cried the Baby pigs.
“Someone’s been sitting in my chair,” growled the Papa Pig.
“Someone’s been sitting in my chair,” said the Mama Pig.
“Someone’s been sitting in my chair and they’ve broken it all to pieces,” cried the Baby Pig
They decided to look around some more and when they got upstairs to the bedroom, Papa pig growled, “Someone’s been sleeping in my bed,”
“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed, too” said the Mama pig.
“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed and she’s still there!” exclaimed Baby pig.
Just then, Dora woke up and saw the three pigs. She screamed, “Help!” And she jumped up and ran out of the room. Dora ran down the stairs, opened the door, and ran away into the forest. And she never returned to the home of the three pigs.Â
THE END

Just to fill you in - what we’ve done today. This morning we had a practice at writing a sentence, we are getting very good at this. We had to remember three things - finger spaces, full stop at the end of the sentence and a capital letter at the beginning. We had some child initiated play, and Mrs Hogan helped us retell the story of Cinderella. After play we went into the hall and did some gymnastics. Have a look at the pictures… we practiced some balancings and different shapes.Â
After lunch is RM maths time, it’s a new program that sets maths questions and problems according to their ability. Watch this space!

Happy new year everyone… I’ve been told that i’ve neglected the blog and by popular demand (from my mum) we’re back. I’ve been resting the fingers, but keep looking - hopefully there’ll be lots of things to see and read this week.Â
