‘drum roll’ our star this week goes to…

Jake

Well done Jake, we have noticed a big improvement in school – you’re growing up to be a grown up boy now!

Star of the Week

Congratulations Matthew for achieving this award.  He received it for many reasons including super listening in our music lesson, trying hard with his handwriting, reading and writing.  We are all so proud!

Kung Hei Fat Choi

We had a little Chinese New Year celebration today in golden time where we tried some noodles and prawn crackers yum yum.  We also had a go at Chinese dragon dancing  in our PE lesson.  The children went home with a traditional fortune cookie and a red money envelope.  Let me know or send me some photo’s if you visit China town on Sunday for the celebrations .

Can you remember the 12 animals from the story?

What is it the year of?

Which animal cheated in the race, and ended up winning?

Think of us before the bin or charity shops…

It’s that time of the year again, where we’ve been having a clear out, and we’re now looking at what we can buy to enhance our learning environment.  If you have any old unwanted toys that are still in good condition please will you think of us before you give them to the charity shop, we’re always grateful for contributions.  Thank you

Baby Clinic

We have recently changed our role play to a medical centre and on Thursday we are hoping to hold a baby clinic.  For all the children who would like to take part, bring a long a baby (pram optional) or a teddy.

Hello Reception

How are you all?  I bet you’ve had a great week learning about healthy bodies and I can’t wait to hear all about it.  I’ve also had a lovely time making new friends and learning lots of new things.  I’ve been to a country called Denmark – the land of lego.  It’s very exciting there at the moment as it’s covered with lots and lots of snow.  But schools don’t close when it snows because they have many snow ploughs that make sure the roads and pavements are clear!  The children in the school say hello!  Children in  Denmark don’t start school until they are 6 years old, so they were very interested in what type of things we do!  Anyway can’t wait to see you all Monday – feel free to leave comments and questions and I will do my best to reply over the weekend!    Lots of Love Miss Newham x
